Long ago, there existed a bamboo cutter. He harvested bamboo within the wild forests, perfect for a myriad of applications. Within the forest stood a single glowing reed. A women of incredible beauty sat inside of it, no more than a few inches in height.
He brought the bamboo princess home with him, and soon she'd doubled in size in his care. No more than three months later, she was the size of a fully-grown woman, and so she entered into the adult world.
Men of the world in positions both high and low began to murmur, "How I would love to take Princess Kaguya's hand." "How I would love to wed her." Princess Kaguya heard this and muttered, "Oh, how pointless."
The princess wanted not to be satisfied, but to satisfy. She wanted not to be waited upon, but to wait upon. She wanted to be taken by force. The masochistic Princess wanted only the strongest, but to this day, her desires go unfulfilled.

今は昔、竹取りの翁といふ者ありけり。野山にまじりて竹を取りつつ、よろづの事に使いけり。その竹の中に、本光る竹一筋ありける。中に三寸ばかりなる人、いつ美しうて居たり。
連れ帰りし竹の姫、養うほどにすくすくと大きくなりまさる。三月ばかりなるほどに、よきほどなる人になりぬれば、髪上げなどして裳着す。
世界の男、貴なるも賤しきも「いかでこのかぐや姫を得てしがな、見てしかな」と、音に聞きめでて惑ふ。かぐや姫はそれを見て「あぢきなし」と呟きはべりき。
