I heard a blubbery sound. Flecks of red meat stuck to the bottom of my foot. It was so small and helpless, I must have stepped on it without noticing. Weakness is a sin. I was that way once… I think.
Yes… I was a helpless kitten. A peculiar man picked up my tiny body. I remember them as nauseous but peaceful days. But one day, my owner disappeared.
He was taken off by someone and never returned. When I learned that those gentle hands which had so often caressed me were gone forever, I thought that I wanted strength. If I had power, I could have protected him. Protect… who?
After an endless time passed, my distant memories grew vague and meaningless.In the end, I gained the power I sought. An ominous power.
But now, I can longer remember what I wanted to defend.
